Location Data: In-Park
We ask that you activate the location data service on your device when you are in the theme park so that the Universal App will be able to: a) activate the wait time feature for the rides and attractions; b) activate the wayfinding feature to help you navigate through the parks; c) help you determine your current location in the park; and d) send push notifications or alerts informing you of special promotions or offers, park or product updates, upcoming events, etc.
Location Data: Off-Premise
With your consent, we may use your location data when you are no longer at the theme park for informational, marketing and promotional purposes. For example, we may send you push notifications or alerts from time-to-time informing you of special promotions or offers, park or product updates, upcoming events, etc. Whether in park or off-premise, you can elect to enable or disable location data at any time by changing the location data service settings for the app on your mobile device.

What are Bluetooth beacons and how are they used in the park?
At Universal Studios Orlando we constantly work on providing new, and exciting, technological experiences and encounters for our guests. Throughout the park, there are certain locations where we may install Bluetooth beacons. Bluetooth beacons use a low-power Bluetooth signal to one-way communicate data via our Universal Orlando Mobile Application. Bluetooth beacons “check in” your device when within proximity. If your mobile device is enabled to receive Bluetooth Low Energy signals, it can communicate with the Bluetooth beacon when installed by receiving a code which will unlock location-specific content and experiences in our Universal App to enhance the guest entertainment experience while in our theme park. You may elect to enable or disable Bluetooth Low Energy signals at any time by changing the Bluetooth Low Energy settings for the app on your mobile device. Universal may also provide ways within our Universal App to toggle off specific notifications, via the app settings on the main menu (three lines at the top left corner of the app; tap the Settings cog icon).
